End Game options, without leaving the guild!

---OOC
Greetings to you all!

We feel that the time of doing high-end PvE is closing in. Currently we are a very small guild, and I'm sure there are other guilds, or individuals, similar to us that ask theirselves the same question; What about PvE?
So I thought I'd take the time to start a Raiding Coalition, to do Zul'Gurub, Molten Core and all other instances you might think of. Current name of the Coalition is "Raiding Coalition", but that is subject to change when we can agree on a name.

Firstly, I'd like to state that we believe:
Skill > Gear
We want to be casual. No silly "You must have all blue items and 120 Fire Resistance to join" rule. Both Molten Core and Zul'Gurub can be done, to some extent, in green gear and a few blue's.
Take for example, my old guild - Burning Dawn at Defias Brotherhood - we entered Molten Core in green (and some blue) gear. Everyone laughed at us, until we slayed Lucifron and Magmadar, the two first bosses in Molten Core. It can be done.
So yes, Skill > Gear.

Secondly I'd like to bring up:
Casual
We are casual. We do not aim to be the best of the best, or the most elite raiding coalition out there. We want to be Friendly, Casual and we want our members to have fun above all. These are the three goals we swear by. We want to maintain some kind of social life while still being able to venture into the depths of the dungeons and get thoose "phat eppix".

Experience
No previous raiding experience is needed. Sometime got to be the first, no? As I said before we aim for the people who want to be casual and have fun together with us. I have been into most instances and know them inside out, still it'll be a new experience to lead a team through them.

--- Current state of Recruiting ---
Interested Guilds:
The Stormrangers
The Darnassus Sentinels
The GyphonHammers

Interested Individuals:

---

Why wait? Apply now!
To apply (or ask questions), either post in this thread, throw me a whisper in game or send me a letter.
You can also visit the Raid Coalition forum on our website (http://swornunity.hollowgrounds.net)

Requirements
So, what are the requirements to join this coalition, you might ask...
* You do not have to have any special gear.
* You do not have to be attuned for Molten Core, Onyxia or Blackwing Lair to apply. This can be sorted afterwards and we can help you get attuned. Some of the new players might not know how to, therefor we want to be there to help.
* You are a mature player. This does not mean you have to be over, say 18 years, just be mature in your way of acting.
* You are friendly. You do not insult people for other's to see, keep it to yourself. If you have a major problem with someone you bring it up with the leaders.
* You keep it relaxing. Yes, it is frustrating to wipe over and over, but it will not get any better by whining. Try to relax and joke about it instead.

DKP (Loot a.k.a "eppix")
We will be using the system called "Zero-Sum DKP". I've used it before and I believe it is the DKP system that is most fair to both new players as to long time raiders, and it is easy to follow as well.
You can read more in-depth about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DKP_(Point_System)#Zero-sum_DKP
There you'll also get to read what DKP exactly is.

Talent Points
Some guilds require you to change your talent points for "the greater good of the guild". We do not believe in that. You may have any specc you like. You can also have other roles as well, if you are a druid that aim to tank we'll help you get the gear and let you tank, to some extent, for example. I have had positive experience with Feral Druids in Molten Core as well as Fire Specced mages there as well.
However please note that if we lack, let's say; healers, on a specific run that Feral Druid might have to heal.
But to sum things up, you can be anything you like as long as you enjoy your role.

I hope that this can be the start of many fun hours of raiding together. And of course, to get some of the gear that we only could dream about. *smiles*
Thank you for reading!

Try and look at the link in the poster.

As mentioned, i've just copy+pasted the poster from the forum listed above. And there is pretty many things which aren't up-to-date.

Greetings to Sharna, and all the Darnaussus Sentinels. I just read your post, and my I say it is so refreshing to see a guild, thats main concern is to have fun when contemplating end game instances. What a truly wonderful guild. If only I could have made my Night elf priest on this server as well as Whiteowl Sad Keep up the good work. I shall look forward to meeting you all at the up, and coming party being held.

May you walk in peace with earthmother, Aho

Part of the RP of TDS is destroying horde. It's a cold fact in WoW that skill doesn't balance out superior gear in PvP, unless the foe is from Ebay.
I fear that in time TDS will fall behind gear wise which means we can only beat newbies and lowbies or try to zerg our enemy. If we can't effectively defend Ashenvale and others territories, TDS kind of loses it's point. Getting our asses handed to us and then having The Eagles sort of save the day is not an option.

A horrible example of this was Pulse's raid on Astranaar. They clearly outgeared us and outnumbered our 60s (online and offline).

Ofcourse that is one of the benefits with good gear, me myself just think MC is a fun instance which with some hope brings out some good and nice teamplay, but ofcourse, there is not many who dont like good gear.

yeah supporting

One word about the epix. I am not sure of this, because I havent got lvl 60 char, but:

2 ways to get epics without MC

1. battleground rewards, pvp rank
PvP is still a secondary thing in WOW, and its really not easy to get good equipment. But you can earn blue armor after rank7 and purple after rank 10 or 11 maybe , I dont remember. Battleground rewards are also blue and purple. PvP ranking is kinda suck though, because you can be demoted easily. Plus promotion is really slow. You cant get 3 ranks a week just because you went every BG and earned 100k honor. What I am trying to do is a slow adwancement , a rank in 2 weeks. Thant means you have to start early, maybe at lvl 30 and you have to do this continously.

What I trying to achive is a battle standard, earned around rank 10 (cant remember again) to be the standard bearer of the sentinels. (it gives 1500 HP to everyone within range, so it makes even lvl40+ sentinels hard to kill).

Edit: this might not be true in second consideration, but I have to check. the standard itself has 1500 HP I think. Purple comes from rank 12. standard at rank 9
.

2. reputation in different fractions.
You can earn epics from fractions.

Epic mount at level 40 FTW!

THere are one other way to get good gear, or decent gear, crafting! Quiet a few things can be crafted that are pretty nice, sageblade, lionheart, titanic, stronghold, black dragon mail.

hehe I would see who hits rank 11 at lvl40. The highest rank I've seen at lvl 49 was 8. But that was a full-time pvp player (My) with exalted reputation at WSG. The epic mount's lvl 40 limit is quite theoretic. You wouldn't get that before lvl 60.

Look at this.

Martyrium selling epics from MC.

And fellow hunters: they are selling the leaf needed for the epic hunter quest!!!

What we need is MONEY! I suggest that we do elite-hunt events to farm blue and purple to sell them for this goal. We can kite much easier any wealthy elite if we do this as a group. We would never get that leaf otherwise, since it is at the last corner of MC and every hunter and priest in the raid is after that.

The reason you didn't succes was that you have a life! PvP 24/7 is the way to go! xD

And for the hunters planning to get the epic bow and staff, there is a movie on warcraftmovies.com that shows and explains how to do it, it is pretty nice, also there is a guide to it on the official hunter forum.

PostSubject: Re: End Game options, without leaving the guild!   Fri 11 Aug - 14:35

well getting the bow is not that hard. Getting the quest is the problem. It can be aquired at MC from a chest, this chest gives the hunter q if a hunter open it and a priest q if a priest. So what you need is simply 40 ppl who escort you in MC lol.

And again, ok do the WSGs and ABs 24 hours a day, but dont be grim if you cant reach rank 11 at lvl 40. As I said, I do much PVP but hasnt seen anyobody at lvl 49 who were greater than 8 8not even full time pvp players who do exactly what you say: they go to BG and AH but nowhere else. This is possiblke due to the Auctioneer addon). That is due to game mechanics. You earn much more honor when fighting at higher lvls. And AV is just a honor factory. Since ranks are limited by the number of players earning honor, getting above rank 8 before lvl 51 is impossible in a server like this, where there are a handful of PVP players, who go to AV regulary, and the overall population isnt high enough to support many high rank pvp players.

The leaf from Domo's chest is a random drop, i'm very sure it doens't matter what class opens it.

And it is possible! Just because i say it*Grins*

end game almost possible

their keep on coming new level 60 players to our guild...
perhaps in a few days we have enough level 60 to end game dungeon raids..

perhaps some one should wright down all names and classes of the level 60 players.. so then we know when we have enough to do bigg instance with better groups...and we can easy see who should come to the raid and who not..

if no one like to write all the names of the level 60 i can do that ofcourse i don't care about some extra work since i can't be online when my brother is so...also i would keep this list updated if i can. i my self hope to reach level 60 in 3 weeks so i can join you all to this instances

I just started such a list, see

http://sentinel.activebb.net/viewtopic.forum?t=297

I will update that list when I feel like it, but at least once per week or more often if others desire that.
